Middle School Spanish Teacher (Education)



LEGACY EARLY COLLEGE OVERVIEW
Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in 2009, with an unwavering focus on "To and Through College" at every grade level. Legacy's model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. In addition to our college-driven academic standards, meals are made on site, scholars participate in PE every day, and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated into the culture and curriculum. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Middle School Spanish Teacher will inspire students to develop a love for the Spanish language and culture, while building foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This role requires a commitment to high academic standards, student engagement, and collaboration with colleagues.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction to scholars in grades 5-8.

Develop lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and incorporate diverse teaching strategies.

Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of scholars.

Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback.

Maintain accurate records of scholars' performance and attendance.

Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and parents to support scholars' success.

Participate in school events, professional development, and faculty meetings.

Uphold school policies, procedures, and values.

Submit all event documentation promptly.

Attend all parent events sponsored by Title I.

Translate/ interpret written/verbal information provided for parents.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Valid teaching certification in Spanish or World Languages (or eligibility for certification).

Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English.

Prior teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive classroom.

Work Schedule
This position operates on the 10-month academic calendar based on the Legacy Early College centralized schedule.

Long-standing and sitting periods and the ability to lift items up to 25 lbs. are required.

Position might require travel.

Periodic participation in activities to support Legacy Early College is required.


Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that the employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Position will have periods of extended work week hours, which are required to support both the ongoing development of the region and the delivery of high-quality education for all students.
