Corrosion Control Technician – Delaware Basin Midstream Operations (Manufacturing)
Job Summary
The Corrosion Control Tech will be responsible with the field execution of corrosion control / prevention efforts for Anadarko operated liquids, natural gas, and water pipeline systems and facilities. The position is located in Anadarko's Delaware Basin as a member of the Midstream Operations team in the Kermit office and Orla office as described in the job posting.
Qualifications
Minimum 1-year experience in pipeline and facility corrosion prevention required.
Proficient knowledge pertaining to cathodic protection, electrical theory, testing equipment including Allegro field computer, multi-meters, reference electrodes, line locators, current interrupters, and data loggers is required.
Proficient survey technique knowledge including annual survey, interference testing, isolation testing, close interval survey, direct current voltage gradient, alternating current voltage gradient, and soil resistivity required.
Proficient operational knowledge of pipelines, facilities, products transported, Federal and State regulatory requirements is required.
Basic proficiency in Pipeline Compliance System database, Allegro field computers and Microsoft standard office suite required.Advanced proficiency preferred.
Competent knowledge in corrosion prevention through protective coatings and linings, cathodic protection, internal corrosion monitoring and prevention, materials selection and design, project support, corrosion mechanisms and mitigation techniques preferred.
NACE Cathodic Protection Technician certification, or higher preferred.
Adherence to Anadarko's core values in all work is required.
Responsibilities
Maintain Federal and State regulatory compliance governing pipeline and facility corrosion control. Insure adherence to Anadarko policies.
Comply with and support the Operator Qualification (OQ) program
Perform and/or coordinate cathodic protection survey and test work including all recordkeeping in PCS database and reporting as assigned / required.
Perform atmospheric coating inspections and assist with planning of coating projects.
Assist in, perform and/or coordinate the monitoring and treatment for internal corrosion.
Help in / analyze corrosion data for mitigation plans.
Help in development of and maintenance of annual deficiency reports on Anadarko assets.
Coordinate / schedule / manage / track and communicate corrosion prevention projects as assigned.
Represent operations in design reviews regarding all facets of corrosion control / monitoring.
Incorporate newly operated assets into the corrosion control program.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.
Certifications / Licenses
Valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
Relocation
This position may be eligible for domestic relocation.
Travel
The percentage of travel for this position is 5% to 10% (Regular daily travel to and from field and overnight stay travel may be required.)
Work Schedule
This position presently utilizes a 5/40 work schedule.
Schedule may be adjusted to fit business needs.
