Position Information:Supports the campus system by coordinating projects, planning, monitoring software, implementing, troubleshooting, quality assurance, communicating, and staying abreast of changing technologies. Essential Duties:
Performs project coordination for evaluating, installing, documenting, monitoring, debugging, upgrading, auditing and maintaining enterprise data storage systems. These may include Storage Area Networks and server software on the MicroSoft server platform such as MicroSoft Exchange, MicroSoft Active Directory and Enterprise file, print, web and database services.
Plans, documents and communicates all changes to server software and enterprise storage, minimizing customer disruption.
Monitors server software products, track server performance and monitor enterprise data storage for analysis in effective capacity management.
Develops and implements administrative procedures, and assist operations in analyzing and implementing new operational procedures when required. Install, test and implement server operating system upgrades and enhancements. Review, analyze, implement and support third party products. Serves as liaison between application specialists, programmers, development team, and stakeholders.
Diagnose server and operational problems and develop effective solutions. Respond to emergency calls relating to server performance, diagnosis of problems, repairing problems or calling upon appropriate technicians.
Prepares specifications for server software and hardware systems that adhere to technical standards and ensure interoperability with other servers. Design, implement and maintain data integrity and security of server software.
Manages staff performance in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, conducts performance evaluation discussions, and discusses any disciplinary issues with management. Supervises and ensures staff is equipped with necessary tools to perform the duties assigned. Assists with developing learning tools for users of business intelligence. Assists users with interpretation and use of the data results ensuring the data is understood by the users.
Continues to stay abreast of changing technologies and new product items to support and enhance job performance.
Performs all projects or duties as assigned and any other implications that may arise.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. May supervise a small staff.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field Experience: 60 months experience in analysis and design of Information Systems, systems analysis project management, or closely related experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
