Maintenance Manager (Government)

Responsible for the maintenance, repair and/or replacement of all plant equipment in accordance with all applicable company policies, goals and financial objectives.  Additionally responsible for management of the plant capital planning process. Employee is responsible for safety and food safety / quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all maintenance and manufacturing storeroom activities including the direct supervision of all plant maintenance personnel.
  • Proactively contributes to the plant goal of zero accidents. Champions plant Safety activities including responsibility for implementation and maintenance of the Energy Control (Lockout/Tagout) Program.
  • Directs maintenance team in repair of machinery and equipment with a focus on maximizing equipment reliability and improving bottom line profitability.
  • Establish a world-class maintenance organizations with a specific focus on proactive planning and scheduling, effective inventory control processes and aggressive downtime management.
  • Manage/maintain the computerized maintenance management system (Mainsaver).
  • Create, justify, track and analyze the annual maintenance parts and hourly labor budget. Primary responsibility for the plant capital planning and execution process.
  • Utilizing standard project management methodologies, responsible for ensuring individual projects meet or exceed agreed upon budgets and timelines.
  • Collaborates with plant quality leadership while driving accountability to GMPs. Supports maintenance of plant SQF certification.
  • Identify and implement projects that improve efficiency, minimize downtime, increase production capacity and reduce costs.
  • Manage all outside service contractors. Ensure contractor compliance with plant safety requirements.
  • Member of the Business Continuity/Crisis Management Team. Manage all maintenance and manufacturing storeroom activities including the direct supervision of all plant maintenance personnel.

Skills, Experience, Education:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance management experience in an industrial environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of increasing responsibility in plant engineering and project management.
  • Must be well versed in world class maintenance concepts to include an expert knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling processes.
  • Direct experience managing a manufacturing storeroom to include a strong understanding of MRO purchasing and storeroom best practices.
  • Computer systems knowledge including experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Auto-CAD, and one of more CMMS programs.
  • Experience in managing the capital appropriation process.
  • Experience driving employee skill development through an aggressive focus on coaching, mentoring, training and motivating maintenance team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage teams to solve problems, deliver continuous improvement initiatives and

    establish sound operating procedures.
  • Possess good leadership and people management capabilities
  • Possess strong administration, organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work

    under time constraints.
