Postdoctoral Scholar (Finance)

The Florida Flood Hub for Applied Research and Innovation is a new, state-funded initiative hosted by the College of Marine Science located on the St. Petersburg campus of the University of South Florida. The initiative serves the entire state of Florida by addressing coastal resiliency, including changes in sea level, high tide flooding, and extreme rainfall. The Flood Hub harnesses expertise from academic, private, and governmental entities to model and forecast the scale of threats to the State's infrastructure and coastlines with unprecedented precision and to translate that information into effective guidance for economic assessments and strategies to mitigate harm. Thus, the Flood Hub requires modeling that resolves atmospheric and oceanic interactions and weather at a spatiotemporal resolution applicable to Florida. The relevant modeling will be achieved by a collaboration between the University of Miami, Florida State University, and the U.S. Geological Survey. Work with Florida State University requires the support of a post-doctoral scholar.
