Fabric Operations and Testing Specialist (Manufacturing)
Essential Job Functions
Facilitate fabric development by setting up new fabrics in PLM, meeting product development calendar deliverables.
Drive fabric testing at development and bulk stages through to completion.
Resolve testing failures and help develop improved global process for recording/tracking/communicating failure resolutions in partnership with 3rd party testing lab, PLM system, and cross-functional partners.
Support Product Development, Trend/Design, and Sourcing by searching the library for requested fabrics and presenting available matches and alternatives.
Participate in counter sourcing fabric initiatives through fabrics testing and fabric setup in PLM.
Organize fabrics by all relevant specifications – for example, construction, mill, active status, end use, price, etc.
Analyze construction and yarn size, weave, knit, etc.
Understand pricing structure and end use of garments
Manage and maintain seasonal fabric records
Manage and maintain IPLM library with bulk records and physical references
Must follow all safe work practices, escalate unsafe conditions, and report incidents
Essential Skills
Degree in textile technology or related
4+ years related experience
Strong understanding of textiles: weaves, knits, dyeing, Washes, denim, and printing
Strong understanding of fabric testing and Lands' End fabric test ratings
Process- and solution-minded, with the ability to collaborate to drive efficiencies
Ability to drive calendar dates and deliverables
Excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal, and organization skills
Experience in communication with vendors, mills and overseas office
Ability to work independently and manage own workflow
Computer proficient
Ability to adhere to Lands' End Attendance program. For hourly full-time positions: Must be able to work a 40 hour work week and be available for overtime as business needs arise (e.g. peak season).
