Purpose:
The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for the residential zero turn product line. Responsibilities will include developing multi-year business plans and product line strategies with both internal and external resources. As a Product Marketing Manager for MTD Products, Inc. you must be passionate, results oriented, and capable of balancing strategic thinking with daily tactical actions.
Essential Duties:
•Resident expert responsible for developing and presenting to internal and external customers product/market launches, product/project objectives and strategies.
•Execute and manage product line activities including model logic, compatibility matrix management, photography approval, manuals, label maps, model configuration, and competitive landscape assessments.
•Creating, presenting and selling ideas for new product innovation, management of major/minor projects, execution of feasibility deliverables (Business cases, Voice of the Customer), influence key decisions, build consensus with project team and management team.
•Identify and drive new ideas drawing on analytical information including consumer insights, warranty, ratings, and benchmarking
•Act as key decision maker/champion for product marketing with product development team, sales teams, and marketing teams to execute new projects and develop roadmaps
•Planning and presenting a balanced go to market strategy that includes P&Ls to establish pricing and manage profitability, creating sales material and training, planning and presenting product line reviews with minimal oversight
•Collaborating to optimize consumer facing marketing in alignment with product line strategies, consumer segmentations, and channels.
•Manage product portfolio to achieve sustained and profitable growth in the category.
•Review portfolio performance and market analytics to evaluate performance to market and communicate market share targets, sales objectives, and portfolio/product recommendations to leadership
•Partner with Consumer Insights and Category Marketing Manager to research consumer behavior for product and sales insights, track and monitor customer satisfaction data & trends.
•Monitor technology and design trends against competitive market trends to anticipate opportunities and threats.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
•Experience in Outdoor Power Equipment or consumer products a plus
•Prior experience with new product development and the stage-gate process.
•Experience with P&L analytics and familiarity with financial decision-making methods
•Functional competency with technical and financial concepts
•Strong organization and time management skills
•Microsoft Office software proficiency
•Experience in strategic planning, product road mapping, and business plans
•Must be effective in written and oral communications, ability to present and persuade a wide range of audiences including senior management, and dealers.
Experience/Educational Requirements:
•Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related field required
•Master's degree a plus
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Management or related field (product marketing, marketing, sales or engineering).
