Purchasing Specialist-Intermediate (Finance)
Overview:Accurately identifies part requirements from cross functional departments (Operations, AMS, and Shop) and creates requisitions for parts, service or expenses.
Skills and Abilities:
• As the Site Procurement Representative, assist the business unit with its daily Procurement needs, including RFP/RFQ, purchasing, and expediting activities, and ensure that company's Procurement Policies and Procedures are enforced
• Works closely with the business to understand demand for materials and services
• Consults catalogs and other references to obtain prices, part numbers and specifications.
• Create/Track approved internal/purchase requisition for parts, service or expenses
o Prepare and edit purchase orders
o Resolve invoice issues, including price discrepancies, missing POD's and missing invoices
o Works with receiving to ensure all items are received correctly and in a timely manner
o Works with receiving and supplier to generate a return if delivery is incorrect or returned by customer
o Works with accounting regarding blocked invoices for goods that are received but not invoiced
• Communicate verbally and in writing with cross-functional departments, Operations, AMS, Shops(internally), Outside Sales and Suppliers(externally)
• Ability to process and manage requisitions, quotes, orders and deliveries.
• Contact vendors and suppliers for quotations, and follow up on outstanding purchase orders to ensure delivery date and payments are made
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Customers/Suppliers on quotes and purchase orders, ensuring pricing, availability and delivery time
• Effectively explore alternatives to reach outcomes that gain support and acceptance of all parties
• May respond to after-hours requests regularly or when on call
• Comply with all applicable safety, environmental and PPE policies and procedures
Knowledge:
• Full understanding of the procurement process
• Two to three years' experience of industrial gas engine and compressor parts across all makes and models
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Minimum Education and Certification:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Read, write and speak English
Minimum Experience:
• Typically at least three years of experience in procurement and/or with gas compression or similar equipment & parts
• ERP System Experience (Oracle Cloud/Tracker), basic to advanced knowledge level preferable
Leadership:
• Ability to work alone
• May be required to maintain an inventory location

• Ability to travel 5% of the time, if needed

• Occasionally required to stoop, twist, kneel, and squat
• Occasionally required to climb, stairs and slanted ladders and carry up to 40 pounds with one hand
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
