Fabrication Operator - Line 04 (Finance)
Operate heavy automated or manual machinery to cut bend and punch sheet metal parts
Identifies sheet metal parts using documentation and transports parts to respective work station
Lift and position raw materials, including sheet metal, insulation, paint, etc.
Prep sheet metal for fabrication
Conduct machine set-up and shutdown procedures
Braze drain pans using acetylene torch
Insulate panels using fiberglass insulation and glue spray gun
Inspect, test and check work performed by self and others
Regularly report to Team Leader or Supervisor about parts shortages or machinery/tooling repair needs
Maintain an acceptable work speed to keep parts flow up for the assembly lines
Report all non-conforming activities and product to management
Practice good housekeeping at all times
Report any unsafe conditions or actions, and promotes safe working conditions and environment
Follow safety guidelines and policies to ensure safe work practices at all times
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; or 6 months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 1-3 years of sheet metal experience is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills preferred.
Certificates & Licenses: N/A
Other Requirements: Must be able to read and communicate in English. Knowledge of operational excellence principles, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S is preferred.
