Senior UX Content Strategist (Hybrid) San Diego, CA or Acton, Mass. (Finance)



Position Overview:

The Insulet UX team is seeking a Senior UX Content Strategist. This role will be responsible for aligning teams around engaging, informative UX content vital for our products and customer experience, including patients, care givers and health care providers around the world, to help simplify the lives of those touched by diabetes.

They will elevate the customer-centricity of the UX and PM teams and inspire action. You excel through innovation, creativity, energizing others, and attention to detail. You've been successful in leading strategic and tactical content designs that lead to a high customer impact.

You are expected to think like a strategist, lead as a servant, and raise the quality of the UX by being a persistent advocate for customers. You will use your organization and positive communication skills to bring clarity to chaos, working strategically with other team leaders and members across the organization. Finally, you have strong cross-functional partnership skills and a proven track record to drive strategic product and experience decisions. As a UX leader, you have a passion for putting our customers' needs first.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategy and roadmap:

  • Define the UX content strategy vision for key features in our product experience , focused on the key priorities for the business.

  • Drive the UX content strategy process, establishing a UX content strategy vision and strategy.

  • Work closely with product, business, and UX partners to develop a shared research strategy and roadmap.

Content strategy excellence:

  • Create compelling and empowering user experiences through engaging, on-brand digital content.

  • Strategize and define content frameworks with compelling rationales.

  • Lead, execute and align teams on content strategy, and copy while documenting all the decisions made.

  • Generate informative, engaging, and persuasive content in support of positive outcomes.

  • Ensure all content is consistent in terms of brand, style, voice and tone, quality, and literacy/grade levels.

  • Collaborate effectively and frequently with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., UX, PM, Marketing), leading the content revision process, and achieving deadlines.

  • Support process and tool improvements and support evaluating future tools.

  • Work closely with UX managers to identify impacts and coordinate content outputs for all products / platforms.

  • Supports maintaining our UX writing style guidelines and ensuring they are relevant / accurate .

Communication and influence:

  • Ask inquisitive questions in a collaborative manner, do things differently, champion innovation and strive for simplicity.

  • Communicate content strategies in a clear and concise manner using advanced presentation skills.

  • Actively involve and collaborate closely with key stakeholders at leadership level (Product Managers, Medical Affairs, Marketing, UX managers) through which you will communicate the golden opportunities between user needs, business viability and technical feasibility.

Center of Excellence, education, and advocacy:

  • Peer review other Content Strategists' work by reviewing proposed content as applicable and providing feedback .

  • Advocate, educate and include UX Design, Human Factors, Instructional Design, and User Research in the design thinking process and elevating the content-driven success of the entire UX team.

  • Always strive to learn and raise the bar on your own and be open to receiving and giving feedback to build stronger content strategy practices.

Required Leadership/Interpersonal Skills & Behaviors:

  • Proven success in working with leadership-level stakeholders .

  • Extensive experience in developing and analyzing content strategy.

  • Extensive experience creating engaging content designs.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven skills as an expert storyteller and influencer.

  • Deep expertise in Content Strategy Frameworks and Design Principles.

  • Deep understanding of UX design, as well as common design tools, language, and processes.

  • High level of competency in applied writing skills, especially writing for a lay user audience.

  • Creativity and empathy to recognize and address the user's challenge .

  • Eagerness and aptitude to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Excellent project management abilities and process development skills.

  • Comfort and familiarity with a dynamic agile software development environment.

  • Deep expertise in platforms and design tools such as Figma, JIRA , Miro .

  • Familiar with Medical Device development processes, familiarity with Diabetes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's (or higher) in a discipline related to UX Content Strategy ( Business Communications, Creative Writing, English or related field of study).

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in writing/editing for digital products.

Additional Information:

  • Preferred location is close to offices in Acton, MA or San Diego, CA.

  • Travel is expected and estimated at 10-15% but will flex depending on business need .

  • NOTE: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements (requires on-site work from an Insulet office at least 3x/week; may work remotely other days). #LI-Hybrid

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $115,950.00 - $173,925.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
