Full-Stack Software Engineer-Work from home-Evernorth (Architecture)



US Medical Integration Solutions (USM-IS) seeks an individual to drive the development of simple, modern, and composable cloud-first solutions across an extensive portfolio of integrated business products. This role is directly responsible for working within a team of developers to deliver integration solutions in support of portfolio initiatives. The ideal candidate should encompass a full-stack engineering mindset with a passion for excelling in all areas of the software development life cycle such as analysis, design, development, automated testing, and DevOps. Additionally, this individual should act as a technical resource for other team members and operate with minimal oversight

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the analysis, design, development, unit testing and implementation of integration solutions consistent with architectural direction and established patterns
  • Contribute towards proof of concepts for software tools/technologies related to application or process development
  • Plan and implement procedures focused on operational efficiency and automation through DevOps capabilities
  • Maintain a solid and collaborative relationship with delivery partners and business stakeholders
  • Complete work following Agile development methodology and concepts
  • Participate in all agile ceremonies effectively

Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with at least 5+ years of recent experience designing, developing, deploying and supporting computing applications in a large-scale, midrange and distributed environment
  • Familiar with advanced concepts and have relevant, hands-on experience in many of the following areas to be a successful contributor on the team:
  • Microservices Architecture and Rest patterns using leading industry recommended security frameworks
  • ETL Development, monitoring, reporting and metrics
  • Experience with Python /PySpark
  • Experience with CD /CI methodologies
  • Experience in API Standards, Microservices Architecture and Cloud capabilities
  • Experience in RESTful APIs and SOAP services and message formats such as JSON and XML
  • Experience in integration technologies such as Spring Boot, Camel
  • Experience in JVM based languages such as Java, Kotlin and Scala
  • Experience in RDBMS and NoSQL databases
  • Cloud and related technologies such as AWS, Google, Azure
  • Test Automation Skills using Behavioral Driven Development
  • Knowledge of application security, authentication and authorization mechanisms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with non-JVM based modern languages such as Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, Golang
  • Familiarity with creating benchmark tests, designing for scalability and performance and designing/integrating large-scale systems
  • Familiarity with building cloud native applications, knowledge on cloud providers and services such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS and Docker containers

Desired Experience/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability and interest in learning new technologies
  • Engineer must be a highly motivated, well-rounded, team player and self-starter that works best in a collaborative, dynamic, agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral are also essential as this position will interface with remote scrum teams, business owners, enterprise architects, security, infrastructure, and end users via email, phone, IM, desktop sharing, and wiki.
  • Candidate is expected to lead by example, exhibiting technical excellence and development of expert level business domain knowledge. Influences technical direction within the ART and across ARTs.
  • Mentality towards integrating and reusing existing capabilities vs building from scratch is highly desired.
  • Ideal candidate will have relevant experience either as a consultant or working for a start-up company.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $115,100 - $191,800, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
