Director- Grounds, Facilities & Event Management Operations (Internal Posting Only) (Finance)

Reports to Grounds management unit leader. Supports the performance of the Athletics Department controlled grass and synthetic fields and oversight of general Athletics grounds while also assisting with Athletics Department facilities and events management.

1. Serves as grounds manager for assigned Athletics fields. On a daily basis, ensure efficient and effective operations of each assigned facility: Manage the daily use schedule, ensure the safety/security of each field and its users, and facilitate effective maintenance, custodial, conversions, and grounds services through effective communications with staff and/or contracted management partners.
2. Ensures proper management of chemical and fertilization programs. Manage application timing, chemical handling, calibrations and other aspects of Best Management Practices & Integrated Pest Management protocols.
3. Assists Assistant AD for Grounds, Facility & Event Management Operations with oversight of Athletic grounds management operations staff. Assign tasks for designated daily operations, athletics events and all special events hosted by Athletics.
4. Serves as facility manager for assigned Athletics facilities. On a daily basis, coordinate schedule of use, building security, oversight of building systems and performance of maintenance, custodial and grounds services. Engage and hold accountable service providers to ensure proper custodial and maintenance for assigned athletics facilities/grounds.
5. Alongside unit leadership, develops and executes event management plans for all events hosted in assigned Athletics facilities.
6. In all settings and in all situations, serves as a positive Ambassador for UH Athletics and UH in general. Effuses positivity and grows affinity for all things UH.
7. Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

MQ:
Education: Requires the ability and knowledge for analysis and interpretation of procedures, policies and practices attainable through specific education and/or training programs in a specialty or technical field. Advanced vocational or electronic skills or a basic knowledge of a professional field is required. An Associate's degree or certification/licensing in a technical specialty program of over 18 months and up to 3 years duration are characteristics of this field. Experience: Requires a minimum of three (3) year of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
