North Naples Church is accepting applications for the position of Children's Ministry Coordinator. The schedule is 16 hours per week including Sundays 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM and additional flexible hours throughout the week.
The Children's Ministry Coordinator supports the mission of North Naples Church by assisting with preparation and implementation of early childhood and elementary programming, working directly with children to lead large and small groups, assisting with volunteer coordination, communicating with families, and performing administrative duties for the ministry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with implementation of Sunday morning Children's Ministry programming
Prepare and organize multiple learning spaces; set-up technology
Serve as a point of contact for ministry volunteers, parents, and participants
Assist parents with electronic check-in and problem-solve technology issues as they arise
Assist in leading both the 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM program hours; serve as a large group facilitator and a Small Group Leader as necessary using provided curriculum
Assist with tear down of spaces and organizing materials at the end of programming
Prepare for weekly Sunday morning programming by preparing curriculum-related materials and activities using provided curriculum; purchase supplies as necessary
Maintain accurate records on an ongoing basis using multiple database systems to ensure up-to-date information for class lists, email distribution lists/groups, weekly attendance, and volunteer records
Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing current and additional programming to support the visioning goals of the Children's Council; current programs and major events include Serve Your World Camp, Breakfast with Santa/Advent Fair, Lenten Family Olympics, Promotion Sunday, Family Gatherings, and New Christian Education Year Kick-Off
Assist in preparing large mailings to communicate information to participants such as New Christian Education Year invitations/classroom locations and the Third Grade Bible Presentation and Class
Assist in creating sign-ups in SignUp Genius and EasyReg systems
Participate in Children's Council and Major Events Team meetings
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school education is required. Associate's degree or higher preferred. At least 1 year of experience in children and/or family ministry or Christian education.
Excellent ability to inspire and equip children to grow in their faith as followers of Jesus
Excellent communication skills including writing skills, oral presentation skills, and the ability to prepare and teach lessons and concepts following a curriculum
Ability to creatively plan and implement worship activities and fun events for children
Strong computer skills, including ability to use technology and equipment to present curriculum, electronically check-in participants, maintain accurate database information, schedule meetings and events, perform large mailings, and create small-scale marketing materials
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and work in a fast paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail is required
Demonstrated ability to actively listen and display empathy and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters
Demonstrate character, core values and personal lifestyle compatible with a Christ-centered ministry and be willing to embrace the mission and strategic plans of North Naples Church
Physically, this position requires the ability to sit at a desk, stand, walk, stoop, reach, and lift up to 10 lbs.
