Construction Office Engineer (Finance)



CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PRACTICE

Michael Baker International's Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Office Engineer to join our construction services team, supporting our wastewater infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a recent civil engineering graduate with at least two years of relevant experience who is eager to contribute to meaningful environmental and public health initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide engineering and support to project manager, resident engineers and field teams on wastewater treatment and conveyance projects.
• Review and process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.
• Assist in preparing project schedules, cost estimates, and progress reports.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Support field inspections and quality assurance activities as needed.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with exposure to wastewater or water infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with construction documentation, project scheduling, and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Project).
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $59,872 to $86,440. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
