Director, Tax (Finance)



The Director, Tax is responsible for the Company's global tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting for income taxes. This role will monitor reporting and planning, ensuring compliance with applicable tax statutes. This role will also work with businesses, service providers, and other tax professionals while directly managing the in-house tax staff and overseeing all functions performed by a third-party service provider.

  • Oversee the third-party outsourcing provider, responsible for completion of federal, international, and state income tax returns, including technical review and analysis to ensure the compliance and accuracy of tax returns
  • Working closely with the third-party outsourcing provider, manage all aspects of income tax accounting ensuring the Company is in compliance with GAAP and SEC filing requirements. This requires a working knowledge of ASC 740, FIN 18 and FIN 48 issues
  • Manage the financial statement audit conducted by external auditors
  • Lead and manage internal tax staff, including establishing policies and procedures
  • Perform complex tax research and analysis and prepare written and oral communications supporting tax technical positions taken by the Company
  • Develop tax savings plan ideas and direct the related project implementation
  • Direct and maintain the tax department's internal control environment and applicable SOX documentation
  • Other tax related activities as directed by management including supporting acquisitions and divestures
  • These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 10 years tax related experience preferably in a combination of public accounting and large multi-national, multi-jurisdictional experience within a corporate structure of a publicly traded company
  • Comprehensive knowledge of domestic, US international, and foreign corporate taxation
  • Master's degree or CPA preferred

    • Solid teamwork skills and a demonstrated ability to manage others and work across functions
