HR Generalist (Finance)



Summary

The Human Resources Generalist will perform all aspects of HR function with an emphasis in the areas of compliance, employee relations, recruitment, development and special projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Provides timely and accurate administrative support to the Human Resources Department.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition program and other company sponsored events.
  • Consults with employees and management teams to enhance employee performance, improve leadership skills, and implement HR related processes/procedures.
  • Investigates, coaches, and resolves issues in a positive and creative manner with both employees and managers.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Strives to ensure employee understanding of benefit programs by, regularly generating communication and counseling employees/dependents as situations arise. Partners with FMD's Shared Services to resolve employee complaints related to health and welfare plans.
  • Site administrative duties as required.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related major required; HR certifications are a plus
  • 1-3 years of HR experience required, experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail along with time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS
  • This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
