Interoperability Analyst II (Information Technology)



Position – Interoperability Analyst

The Opportunity

Homecare Homebase is searching for an Interoperability Analyst who will help lead a cross-functional Interfaces Implementation team towards success.  The position must be able to work in a collaborative environment to create a culture of excellence, ownership, accountability, inclusion, and proven outcomes. This person will play a critical role in evolving our Interoperability Services team through the growth and development of our team members as well as other matrixed teams within the organization.

The Challenge  

At Homecare Homebase, we help home health and hospice organizations across the nation overcome the business and technological challenges that stand in the way of patient care and efficiency. As Interoperability Analyst, you will be responsible for acting as a technical liaison in the project team:

  • Working closely with project teams on customer-specific initiatives that involve data movement, translation, or integration.
  • Assist team members in :
    • analyzing customer data specifications and provide gap analysis
    • design, development, and delivery of Interoperability Solutions
    • Business Requirement gathering and documentation
  • Process and Quality Improvement
  • Create technical documentation
  • Communicate with customers to clarify data format requirements
  • Assists with connectivity, testing, transmission verification, and meeting deliverable dates
  • Vendor and Development Coordination for configuring new interfaces
  • Write translation plans to move development work into various environments
  • Mentor others regarding Interoperability Services processes
  • Customer Transition to Support

What We're Looking For

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Discovery & Design - Provides technical discovery documentation and design as it relates to the existing applications that correspond with the architecture strategies at an enterprise level. 
  • Strategy Execution – Takes direction to assist in the execution of HCHB's overall information systems strategy as it pertains to their vision of the organization in both strategic and tactical plans. Involved in team adoption, execution and integration of strategy to achieve optimal and efficient deliver. 
  • System Engineering – Involved in the evaluation of proposed system acquisitions or solutions and provides input to the decision-making process relative to compatibility, cost, resource requirements, operations, and maintenance.
  • System Integration – Integrates software components, subsystems, facilities and services into the existing technical systems environment; assesses impact on other systems, and works with cross functional teams within information management to ensure positive project impact.  Installs, configures, and verifies the operation of software components.
  • System Security – Participates in the research, design, and implementation of application, database, and interface security using technologies such as SSL, Public-Key encryption, and Certificates or other emerging security technologies.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills:

  • 3-5 years IT experience in technical analysis, design and implementation
  • A minimum of 1-2  years of Healthcare or Healthcare Information technology Systems experience required
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business, or related field or equivalent experience (3- 5 years) required.
  • Education and experience in relevant ITIL support and delivery processes preferred
  • Technical knowledge of Enterprise Application/Interface Design of systems, databases, operating systems and Information Management.
  • Must have the communication skills and ability to develop and present solutions to superiors.
  • Must be able to solve complex problems with direction. 
  • Must be able to interact effectively and patiently with customers especially while under pressure.  
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously to meet project deadlines as required. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees.
  • Understanding of Interface Concepts (both end-user and data)
  • High level of intellectual curiosity

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • HL7 Certification or related Interface Engine certification or related industry certification a plus
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in MS Office with a focus on Excel, Word and Visio
  • A minimum of 1-2 years working with relational databases, MS SQL Server.2000-2008, Transact-SQL, and SQL Stored Procedures or any other database
  • Integration experience with Microsoft SSMS and InterSystems, or API consumer experience preferred
