Driver (Part Time, 30% FTE) - 1 S Park (Transportation)
Bring your excellent customer service experience to UW Health.
We're seeking a Driver to:
· Operate a UW Health fleet vehicle to pick up and deliver a variety of materials, including supplies, medical equipment, labs, and medical records.
· Load and unload items for delivery.
· Work with both internal and external customers and demonstrate great customer service skills.
· Perform vehicle safety inspections and monitor the vehicle's oil and fuel levels.
· Follow proper procedures and safety precautions while operating a motor vehicle.
Education:
Preferred – High School diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:
Preferred – Experience in delivery setting involving multiple locations.
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum – Valid Wisconsin Driver's License.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
· Must be 21 years of age to drive a UW Health Fleet Vehicle.
· Ability to be insured and bonded by UW Health's Risk Management insurer, which requires (1) a valid Wisconsin driver's license and (2) successfully passing a driver's background check.
· Ability to pass required precautionary training for transporting sensitive cargo (e.g., labs, pharmaceuticals, hazmat, etc.)
· Ability to work as a team member.
· Ability to pass a departmental Driver's Road Test.
· Ability to learn transportation routes using verbal and written instructions.
· Knowledge of computer-based programs such as Microsoft Office.
· Possess a thorough knowledge of traffic regulations.
· Possess a thorough knowledge of safety precautions to be followed while operation a motor vehicle.
· Knowledge of safe lifting methods.
· Ability to operate a vehicle efficiently and safely.
Physical Requirements:
Heavy: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Schedule:
30% FTE, 12 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are Monday - Friday. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
