Sr Financial Institution Policy Analyst- FMI Oversight- RBOPS (Finance)
Position Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public policy, economics, or another related field and a minimum of 4 years of related experience, or a master's degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience.
Senior Financial Institution and Policy Analysts must be able to immediately contribute to the success of work requiring the following competencies and be able to serve as an advisor to provide insight in their application:
Reviews and Examinations: The ability to participate in or lead reviews and/or examinations of Reserve Banks or other financial institutions
Risk Management: The ability to utilize risk management principles to evaluate and mitigate potential risks
Knowledge of Financial Markets and Institutions: The ability to apply an understanding of how financial markets and institutions are impacted by changes in regulations and policy and vise-versa
Knowledge of Relevant Policy: The ability to interpret, apply and recommend changes as needed to policies specific to areas of responsibility
Knowledge of Relevant Law and Regulation: The ability to interpret and apply law and regulations related to areas of responsibility; evaluate the impact of changes in law and/or regulations
Financial Analysis: The ability to conduct financial analyses to identify patterns, trends, or themes in financial or operational data
Remarks:
While we seek candidates that have an interest in and ability to contribute to oversight efforts across the range of risks managed by systemically important FMIs, we are placing an emphasis on operational risk management experience. The Sr. Analyst's primary focus will be to assess, both independently and in collaboration with technical experts, the operational risk management practices of FMIs (including those operated by the Federal Reserve Banks); and to inform the Board's operational risk management policies, oversight plans and strategies for FMIs. The Sr. Analyst will interact directly with staff and leadership in the Federal Reserve System, other US and international regulatory authorities, and senior management at the FMIs.
Successful candidates will have experience managing operational risks or assessing operational risk management in an oversight capacity. Candidates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of financial sector IT (including cybersecurity), operational resilience, and business continuity practices, risks, and risk management.
A writing sample may be requested. This position is located in Washington, DC and will not be a full time remote role.
