RSLP Operations Support Journeyman (Government)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a broad range of support to the program launch and rideshare service/system/support acquisition activities, and specific acquisition support to RSLP.
  • Analyze the requirements of potential RSLP orbital/suborbital launch/rideshare missions and integrate those requirements into draft versions of Mission Requirements Documents/Technical Requirements Documents.
  • Analyze the requirements of each RSLP launch/support service contract and integrate those requirements into draft versions of acquisition documents.
  • For mission support, provide updates of Mission Requirements Documents and Technical Requirements Documents for assigned programs.
  • Prepare for, actively participate program telecoms for assigned programs. 
  • Prepare for, actively participate in, and advise the RSLP Missions Manager and RSLP leadership during monthly Program Management Reviews (PMRs) for assigned programs.
  • Prepare for, actively participate in, and advise on all launch service contract major reviews and Government readiness reviews IAW SMC-G-1204.
  • Prepare for, actively participate in, and advise the RSLP mission manager and RSLP leadership on the Integrated Baseline Review for each assigned program.
  • Provide support to mission launch operations.
  • As required, participate in, and advise the RSLP mission manager during Range Safety, Systems Safety, Ground Operations and Systems Security Working Group Meetings for each assigned program, as well a variety of program boards such as CCB and RMB.
  • Analyze the requirements of orbital launch mission or suborbital mission.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and capable of completing multiple time-sensitive tasks.
  • Must be able to prioritize workloads.
  • Must thrive in fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Project and Access.
  • Must have a broad background in launch vehicle systems.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • BS/BA, in a Business, Engineering or STEM Field preferred.
  • Requires US Citizenship and a Secret clearance;  must be able to obtain a TS/SCI to be considered for this position.
  • 5 years of experience in suborbital/orbital space launch systems and services utilizing commercial and/or deactivated Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs). Space-related experience specializing in program management or engineering with familiarity of the acquisition process (e.g., program strategy, Request for Proposal (RFP), and mission execution).

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Office environment.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening, subsequent random screening per antidrug and alcohol misuse prevention program requirements.

Travel:

  • Travel may be required and will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and/or Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
