International Alumni Officer (Finance)



The International Alumni Officer is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with alumni located outside the United States. This role focuses on engaging international alumni through strategic communications, digital platforms, and targeted outreach programs (primarily online). The position is responsible for data collection and data management of alumni information and will be expected to conduct data analysis that informs outreach strategy. The position plays a key role in strengthening the global alumni community and connecting alumni to USF through enhanced and measurable digital engagement. A professional and engaging online 'voice' is required for this position. Additionally, the officer will collaborate with the International Student Support Team to engage current international students as prospective alumni.Minimum Qualifications: This position requires Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to alumni affairs, community relations or development. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communications, mass communication, public relations, etc. with 2 years of experience related to community relations. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Experience in relationship building and working with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in LinkedIn and LinkedIn Sales Navigator for engagement. Proven capability with social media engagement using metrics and data analysis. Previous experience with Alumni Relations engagement and best practices. Strong organizational skills.

4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for global alumni engagement.
  • Lead and expand the USF Global Networks to effectively engage by creating high caliber online content for the nine LinkedIn groups comprising alumni, students, faculty, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the USF Global Network social media content calendars.
  • Drive engagement and increase membership in each LinkedIn group through strategic outreach
    and community-building efforts.
  • Track alumni engagement metrics to identify areas for improvement and measure the effectiveness of digital engagement strategies.
  • Develop engaging, tailored content for each of the nine USF Global Network LinkedIn groups, including through mini articles featuring global alumni, faculty, and student spotlights. videos and social media graphics.
  • Create and manage communication materials, including newsletters, social media, and other channels, to keep international alumni informed and engaged.
  • Lead initiatives to foster alumni-to-alumni online connections particularly among those in similar industries or regions.
  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns promoting global alumni events and programs, including email campaigns via Constant Contact.

Data Evaluation & Management - 30%

  • Maintain and manage baseline data for all international alumni in the USF World system, ensuring ongoing data accuracy and integrity.
  • Expand the international alumni database by leveraging LinkedIn searches and incorporating updated lists of international graduates each semester, in collaboration with the USF Alumni Association.
  • Prepare and generate targeted alumni contact lists to support departmental and campus engagement initiatives, including events and outreach efforts.
  • Oversee international alumni mailing lists in Constant Contact, ensuring effective and timely digital communication.
  • Create data analytics to measure and evaluate alumni engagement.

Strategic Engagement -20%

  • Flag potential alumni donors and fundraising opportunities, including potential corporate partners, and volunteers.
  • Find opportunities for alumni to reconnect as brand ambassadors, event speakers, supporters, event sponsors, and contacts for potential international students.
  • Identify and recommend exceptional global alumni for features in USF World articles, the USF Magazine, the USF Alumni Newsletter, and for USF alumni awards.
  • Facilitate connections between global alumni and their respective USF colleges and departments and support USF units to identify and develop meaningful alumni engagement opportunities (i.e. creation and growth of college-specific or academic alumni groups).
  • Request information from businesses and/or vendors, manage digital assets, provide event support and organize materials as needed.

Represent USF World across the University community - 5%
  • Attend weekly USF Alumni Center meetings.
  • Represent USF World on relevant committees and work groups.
