Vineyard Equipment Manager (Agriculture)
JOB SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates all the various activities to purchase, repair and maintain the vineyard equipment fleet. Assignments involve the execution of equipment acquisition and maintenance for all vineyard equipment requiring broad skills and knowledge of the equipment used in the areas of pruning, irrigation management, weed control, chemical applications, disease and pest control, cultivation, canopy management, and harvest of commercial wine grapes. Ideal candidates have a degree in a relevant field, experience in vineyards and equipment maintenance, and an analytical, curious, and open-minded approach to their work. Willing to train the right candidate with a degree and minimal experience who has an eagerness to learn. Must be willing to travel to the various vineyards and TWG locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversees all vineyard equipment maintenance activities at all TWG Vineyard Operations equipment maintenance shops
Directs work assignments, delegating work to shop personnel in an effective manner
Trains personnel in the areas of scheduling procedures, safety and regulations related to equipment functions
Maintains communications with all equipment shop personnel and/or contractors ensuring proper procedures and quality of work
Works with Vineyard Managers and Vineyard Finance Manager to support farming operations, including harvest
Monitors equipment maintenance conditions to ensure minimal equipment downtime, optimum equipment efficiency and effectiveness, and cost minimization
Keeps accurate records of equipment maintenance data
Maintains records of daily events, equipment movement and work schedules
Assists with annual capital expenditure and operating expense budgets and reviews monthly
Manages the requisition, operation and maintenance of all tools, equipment, and vehicles
Reviews all expenditures for equipment maintenance to ensure that all operations are within budgetary parameters
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
Implements safety training programs

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years or older at time of hire
Degree in Viticulture, Agribusiness, Engineering, AND/OR equivalent experience required
5+ years of relevant vineyard equipment maintenance experience preferred
Preferred: operations experience including budgeting, contract management, etc.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Support and model all company procedures and policies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position requires significant travel between equipment shops and vineyards
Primary work activities are in the environmental elements
Employee is exposed to wet or humid conditions
Exposed to inclement seasonal weather, summer heat, cold weather, rain
Must be able to move and lift up to 50 lbs.
May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, farming chemicals and fertilizers
