Position Description:
The maintenance instrument technician has the responsibility of maintaining building and equipment assets in Animal Health production areas, so that the equipment is available on demand to the customer.
Functions, Duties, Tasks:
Instrument Technicians/Maintenance Electricians (EL/PR) are multi-crafted craftspersons performing predictive/preventative work on electrical and instrumentation needs around the plant site.
This position will be responsible for PMs, removing, repairing and re-installing malfunctioning equipment per written or verbal instructions using manual & powered tools, testing equipment, performing work on low voltage electrical equipment, and knowledge of medium voltage switching.
KRA #1: Provide Safe Work Environment - Attends monthly safety meetings and actively participates in the development of action plans to eliminate our serious and minor accidents. Always wears appropriate PPE. Follows all safety policies and procedures and zero serious safety violations. Maintains safe and neat work area.
KRA #2: Personal Development - Maintain 100% current on ITP. Develops Performance Management Plan objectives and actively participates in the Performance Management process. Makes effort to sharpen craft skills and shares knowledge. Shows interest in/is developing skills not necessarily part of their own craft. Attends departmental training programs. Makes efficient use of time.
KRA #3: Satisfy Work Requirements - Flexible with work schedule for business reasons. Starts and ends shift on time. Is rarely absent. Reasonable and flexible with breaks and lunches. Knowledgeable in the use and care of tools. Accountable for effective cross shift/functional communications. Enters complete WO closing notes into SAP. Is a self-starter.
KRA #4: Communication - Seeks out or creates partnerships with operations. Communicates with customer prior to beginning work to understand and set customer expectations. Carries job to completion including customer follow-up.
KRA #5: Operates in Compliance with Regulations - Fully integrates QSOPs into daily operations and identifies and initiates changes that are needed. Follows through and corrects discrepancies found in documentation, drawings, BOMs, etc.
Basic (Required) Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of Post Offer Exam (POE), Completion of Work Simulation (SIM) or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.
