Network Architect

As a member of the Littelfuse Global Infrastructure team, the Network Architect will serve as a key delivery lead for our enterprise network topology and capabilities. This person will assist in defining and executing network strategy. He or she will assist in the planning and design, deployment, testing, and cutover of enterprise-scale solutions.

The Network Architect will operate in a complex and diverse global enterprise. This role and will provide business cases and technology drivers for LAN and WAN deployments (with TCO, ROI, and roadmap alignment). Enabling our business processes with new and innovative ways to deliver services and value to our customers will require someone with the ability to translate business requirements, systems, solutions, and data architectures into infrastructure capabilities and their high-level designs. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in implementing enterprise class LAN and WAN designs, and be able to make short term decisions in the context of the long-term technology direction. 

About the Job:

  • Research and recommend network designs to address project requirements and business challenges, while adhering to security standards.

  • Set and maintain the standards for our global enterprise including datacenters, manufacturing sites, sales and engineering offices, warehousing operations.

  • Support mergers and acquisitions/integration work.

  • Serve as the technical expert for the global network team, mentoring as needed.

  • Addressing break/fix issues as needed/when escalated.

  • Participate in and support an array of projects in support of our digital transformation journey.

  • Business and technology acumen; solid understanding of general IT (and, specifically, Network Services) policies, services, security, processes, structure Ability to strategically partner with IT team members and IT partners/vendors to successfully deliver on IT vision, direction, strategies, and key priorities.

About You:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field is desired.

  • 8+ years setting network vision, strategy, architecture, plans and direction as well as related IT organizational models within a highly complex, large scale infrastructure environment in a company with complex technology requirements. Proven ability to plan, implement, and manage networks that ensure high availability, scalability, security, and operational supportability within a high-volume, rapidly growing digital business.

  • Experience working successfully and partnering with team members across various business units, functions, and geographies.

  • Knowledge of how to maintain a data center, including but not limited to documentation management, equipment installation, work with structured cabling systems, maintenance procedures, best practices, and troubleshoot issues.

  • Ability to function effectively under pressure in environments of rapid change and conflicting customer demands and crisis management.

  • Ability to lead and mentor individuals of varying job grades and geographic locations; ability to motivate & manage people to deliver complex IT projects on-scope, on-quality, on-time, and on-budget as well as maintain “always-on” IT services and related operations.

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting F5 and Riverbed.

  • Strong working knowledge in the following areas: Cisco routing and switching experience, including BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, and L2 architectures, WAN (including MPLS, IPSec, SD-WAN), Firewall ( including but not limited to Palo Alto and Cisco ASA), Wireless (including Cisco WLAN controllers).

  • Experience defining and negotiating infrastructure solution options while considering risks, costs, impacts, and business objectives.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to travel as required (10%).

  • Ability to work flexible hours and provide on-call support.

  • Must be available for weekend and evening work when applicable due to project deadlines, problems, and production hours of operation.

  • Certifications: Cisco CCNP, CCNA or Cisco CCIE preferred.

  • Must be able to lift equipment of up to 50 lbs.
