Job Description
The Site Trade Compliance Operations Leader is responsible for leading the successful implementation of Global Trade Compliance requirements in all site functional areas (e.g. contracts, order entry, supply chain, engineering, human resources, shipping) at assigned FLIR facilities. They will serve as the primary global trade compliance relationship with facility leadership and operations personnel and must be well rounded in all global trade compliance disciplines to effectively drive compliance. This role will require high business acumen, active engagement, and forward-thinking involvement in the business operations. The Site Trade Compliance Operations leaders will also play a key role in the strategic planning process and execution of day-to-day activities at the facility level. The ability to proactively identify risks and compliance challenges that may arise and to develop and monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicators to monitor the overall health of trade activities at the sites will be critical. This unique partnership with FLIR's operations is part of FLIR's strategic plan to make compliance in our operations a strategic advantage as compared to our competitors.
Site Trade Compliance Operations Leaders will be responsible for implementation of site level compliance operations, standard practices, and training programs that align to corporate GTC program requirements, published policy documentation, and applicable regulations, in coordination with corporate GTC staff, local site functional leadership and operations teams.
Site Trade Compliance Operations leaders will be responsible to ensure that site level activities are compliant with policy & regulation and will provide proactive, solution-oriented, daily operational guidance and internal customer support as necessary to facilitate compliant business transactions. They will also be called upon to support corporate initiatives and projects and will routinely communicate with corporate GTC leadership to ensure effective program execution at sites as required. They may also be required to participate in trade audit preparation activities and work with other site leads to drive consistency, where possible, in operating procedures.
Site Trade Compliance Operations leaders will have demonstrated hands-on ITAR experience and will act as Empowered Officials in the United States or as designated officials, as required, in non-U.S. locations.
In addition to being the primary global trade point of contact for site operations, the individual will be responsible for working as a liaison between business operations and other GTC functions, including Customs, Licensing, Traffic, Investigations and Disclosures and may be required to lead compliance activities at assigned sites or at smaller, satellite facilities that do not have designated GTC compliance leads.
