DESCRIPTION
As part of our Civil Engineering Design Team, you will primarily provide planning, design, and construction support for a variety of projects related to industrial facility engineering. You will provide input to the preparation of construction drawings and specifications. You will build and maintain important relationships with customers, subcontractors, and vendors. In addition, our Idaho Falls office is seeking to expand our presence in transportation engineering projects and, if desired, you will be a key part of that growth by assisting in developing transportation related project proposals.
•The majority of your day would be spent leading and/or contributing to the design effort on one or more projects.
•Prepare complex studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation.
•Assist in the development of cost estimates.
•Assist with defining scope of work and man-hour requirements.
•Assist in proposal production and in implementing marketing initiatives.
•Prepare documentation required by regulatory agencies to obtain permits.
•Travel occasionally, as required.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
•Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial, nuclear, or industrial facility maintenance or design. A Master's degree can be substituted for 1 year of experience.
•Registered as a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Idaho or be eligible to become registered by comity within 6 months of employment.
•Need to be a U.S. Citizen with no dual-citizenship.
•Have a basic understanding of AutoCAD (preferably with Civil 3D experience).
•Possess technical writing skills and be able to use these skills in the preparation of formal reports.
•Due to security requirements, you will need to have or be able to obtain a DOE Level "L" security clearance within 6 months of hire.
PREFERENCES
•Utilities infrastructure planning experience.
•Utilities design experience including, but not limited to: domestic water systems, sanitary sewer systems, stormwater systems, firewater systems (including piping and pumps), and general utility layout.
•Roadway design experience
•Experience working with or for the Idaho National Laboratory.
