If you are an Engineering or Safety professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Cudahy, WI location, you will be responsible for the support of a broad range of Environmental, Health and Safety programs. The position offers an opportunity to progress skills in a variety of EHS disciplines. These disciplines and processes reflect the role of EHS performance in the larger overall goals of operational excellence, taking into account the planning, procedures and continuous improvement of EHS initiatives.
AS THE SAFETY ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
Manage, develop and overseesgeneral safety policy and procedures
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety
Gather and report all information required for regulatory reporting such as storm water pollution prevention program and permitting, toxic release inventory (TIR) and other similar required reports with assistance from an Environmental Consulting Firm
Manage the Safety and Health function to meet our Safety Policy
Be responsible for the promotion of Safety and Health of the Vilter Operations
Conduct on-site audits, inspections, assessments and analysis of the operations, processes and facilities.
Communicate findings to affected personnel and partner with them on recommending and implementing corrective actions
Actively lead and provide oversight for the site wide Safety Committee
Participate in and/or lead incident investigations for compliance to safety standards
Adapt to operational needs and address immediate concerns of the manufacturing environment
Conduct safety orientation, emergency plans and coordinate job specific safety training
Create, review and improve additional training material beyond the minimum requirement that are effective in developing overall safety awareness and allow employee's the ability to recognize and report unsafe acts and conditions
Collect and analyze safety related data to reduce and prevent workplace accidents and improve overall facility safety record
Follow-up on, provide communication, and ensure completion of all safety suggestions and incident/near miss/hazard reports.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or Occupational Health with at least five (5) years related experience in environmental health and safety.
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
