POSITION SUMMARY: The Legal Counsel advises the Company's various departments on a dynamic range of legal matters, with a focus on customer contracting and negotiations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contracts - Draft, review, edit, and process various types of Company contracts, such as master services agreements, purchase orders, business associate agreements, and vendor contracts. Given the Company's sales volume and structure, customer contracts will be the primary focus.
Negotiations - Responsible for negotiating directly with customers and vendors to accommodate the Company's business needs. Also responsible for supporting sales representatives and other employees in their negotiation efforts.
Training - educate and train employees, particularly sales representatives, about HealthStream's contracting and legal processes.
Inter-department Liaison - serve as inter-department liaison between Legal, Finance, Sales, and Business Enablement departments to ensure that the Company's business objectives are accomplished in an efficient, effective, and compliant manner.
Job Specifications
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school required. Five years of legal experience, including significant in-house and/or major law firm experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of the healthcare IT industry is helpful, but not required.
