Assistant Plant Manager (Biotech)
What you'll do:
Manage professional employees and/or supervisors or supervises large, complex technical or business support or production operations team(s)
Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function
Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
Resolve issues related to the organization's production, machinery/production operations
Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
Lead the safety culture and ensures the safety of the team member
Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion
Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the business, and production team
Exhibit a strong work ethic and focus on Lean Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity and P&L management
Make decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plans
Exercise independent judgment
Special projects and other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
3 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing management/supervisory role
Bachelor's Degree preferred
The ability to work in a varied outdoor environment (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
Experience in an industrial steel manufacturing plant preferred
Experience in a LEAN manufacturing organization preferred
Able to apply quality control and manufacturing best practices for customer specification, code and regulatory & testing requirements
Microsoft Office suite experience and proficiency with Excel
Excellent ability to communicate and interface with peers and customer representatives
Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making abilities
Strong oral and written communication skills
Flexibility to be available after hours, weekends and holidays as needed to support operations
Well organized with the ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment
Working Conditions:
Full- time position
Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas
This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
