Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Part-Time - Personal Care (Finance)

Performs resident care by reviewing the resident's care instructions daily and reporting to and conferring with licensed nurses as necessary regarding resident changes in condition and care needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains resident stability by checking and recording the following:
Vital signs and weight
Recording intake and output
Reporting observations/changes in condition to the Charge Nurse
Reviewing the resident care instructions every day before beginning and performing care
Reporting bruises, skin tears, unusual marks of any kind to the Charge Nurse
Provides resident's personal hygiene by:
Providing bedpans, urinals,
Baths, backrubs, showers
Shampoos, shaves, sitz baths,
Mouth care, peri-care, etc.
Provides resident support by:
Assisting with travel to the bathroom,
Feeding,
Ambulating, turning and positioning,
transporting
Provides resident comfort by:
Answering call bells as quickly as possible
Providing fresh water and nourishment between meals
Documents resident care by:
Recording care in Caretracker or on forms, logs, etc, immediately after care is completed
Protects resident information by:
Maintaining confidentiality and by adhering to HIPPA regulations;
Also encourages peers to not breech confidentiality.
Serves and protects the residents of Homeland Center by:
Adhering to all Nurse Aide Certification standards
Reviewing and following the resident care instructions for residents in my care daily
Following all facility safety policies and procedures
Following all policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, morals and ethics
Improves Nursing Assistant knowledge by:
Maintaining current certification status,
Attending training sessions,
By maintaining a high level of competency related to nursing assistant skills.
Contributes to successful resident care team by:
Encouraging at cohesive and cooperative work environment
Assisting other team members to accomplish goals related to resident care without hesitation or negativity
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Experience and or familiarity with computerized documentation is a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
Graduation Certificate from a Pa state approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
Current Nurse Aide Certificate from the Pa Nurse Aide Registry.
Other Skills and Abilities:

Skill with geriatric patients or patients with disabilities
General understanding of medical terminology
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste and smell. The employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Use of corrective eyewear is acceptable.
