Project Manager I- IT USA (Engineering)

Basic Job Functions:

Project management for IT initiatives.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience.
  • 0 – 2 years of Project Management experience.

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Knowledge of project management processes, approaches and tools.  Familiarity with the Agile methodology would be preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and tasks simultaneously, whether working independently or with other people.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project and team to accomplish project goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate status effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Experience in documenting processes, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience in working in 24/7 manufacturing or utilities operation a plus.
  • Proven interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train users.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects for IT to deliver expected results of initiatives. 
  • Defines, documents and carries out small projects or sub-projects (typically less than six months, with  limited budget, limited interdependency with other projects, and no significant strategic impact), alone or with a small team, actively participating in all phases. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and tracks activities against the project schedule, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate. Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensures that own projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are recorded.
  • Uses recommended project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking projects. Sets up project files, compiles, and distributes reports. Provides administrative services to project boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings. Provides guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools and techniques.

Reporting Relationships:

  • This position will report to the Manager II - IT
  • This position will not have direct reports.

Travel:

  • Limited travel is required (less than 10%)

Estimated Annual Salary Range:

  • $65,000 - $85,000 Annual Salary Range
