Plant Manager (Finance)



Job Overview: This role oversees, plans, and manages production, distribution, and maintenance operations to achieve business goals and strategies for the Pacific North-West of LGUS West, while ensuring safety and environmental compliance. Operations responsibilities include the air gases facility in Fife, WA (TLA 180/360 and PL-1M), and the Transport Execution functions in the Pacific Northwest (Ferndale, Fife and the Portland CO2 depot). Primary Responsibilities: The ideal candidate possesses extensive expertise in operational principles and practices, as well as a comprehensive understanding of business strategies and organizational culture. This individual will strive to achieve results and enhance performance on both a regional and national scale. The specific duties and responsibilities associated with this role are detailed in the following sections. Responsibilities: - Optimize Plant Reliability and Efficiency: Implement strategies to ensure continuous, reliable operation of the plant, minimizing downtime and maximizing output. - Lead Maintenance and Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance of all equipment and machinery, developing preventative maintenance programs to extend asset lifespans and prevent failures. - Ensure Compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations: Strictly adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies regarding safety, health, environment, and product quality. - Develop and Execute Operational Plans: Create detailed operational plans aligned with business objectives, ensuring that all operational activities contribute to plant reliability. - Implement Process Improvements and Lean Initiatives: Utilize Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency. - Manage Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate and facilitate activities with other departments and units to support reliability goals. - Lead and Develop Teams: Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate employees, fostering a culture focused on reliability and operational excellence. - Monitor Industry Trends and Innovate: Stay abreast of external and internal trends to develop procedures, make informed decisions, and implement innovations that enhance reliability. - Financial Management and Reporting: Manage plant budgets, control costs, and develop financial performance reports, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support reliability objectives. - Enhance Customer Relations: Manage operational communications with customers, ensuring their needs are met through reliable product supply and responsive service. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; an engineering degree is advantageous. - Minimum of five years of industrial experience, preferably in bulk and on-site operations. - At least five years of plant management experience.
