SUMMARY:
Tetra Tech Inc., an industry leader and nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a part-time, on-call Field Entomologist to work for our client in Solano County, California.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected candidate will conduct insect surveys Solano County, California. This position requires knowledge and experience surveying for California insects and plant species, specifically the Callippe silverspot butterfly and its host plants. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS OR REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A PhD in Entomology and a minimum of 20 years of experience is required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: (if applicable)
None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work environment requires you to able to hike in varied field terrain which includes mud. No heavy lifting required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to travel to the project site within Solano County, California. Field work will be short-term, lasting up to three days at a time and occurring over multiple survey events. Potential work on weekends, schedule may change according to client requirements. Insect identification and report writing can be done remotely.
LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must be fluent in the English language - writing and speaking, etc.; Report writing requirements, etc.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills are required.
OTHER SKILLS:
Fluency with computer software including knowledge of primary Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, TEAMS and Outlook).
