EHS Intern (Finance)
Support overall business strategy by ensuring all health and safety directives, policies, and initiatives are effectively incorporated at plant level.
Undertake, at regular, intervals audits/inspections of the plant (including inspections of machinery, equipment in use, and work systems in operation) with plant management to ensure compliance with corporate polices and regulations. Where appropriate, develop corrective and preventive actions with management team.
Collaborate with Safety Engineers, supervisors, and production employees to conduct job hazard analyses and risk assessments and implement proper controls, as necessary.
Identify plant health and safety training needs, develop appropriate resources, and execute training sessions for employees and management staff as required.
Actively participate in plant safety committee meetings.
Support plant supervisors with the investigation of incidents. Where necessary, lead investigation process and/or collaborate with appropriate staff on serious incidents.
Communicate incidents and corrective actions in a timely, thorough, and effective manner.
Assist in the tracking and monitoring of plant health and safety metrics and communicate trends to management team as needed to drive performance.
Maintain health and safety records to ensure adherence to corporate polices and/or regulatory requirements. Including, but not limited to, OSHA 300 log, incident records, safety metrics, training, inspections, and evaluations.
Partner with Manufacturing Engineering team on health and safety requirements in the design, introduction, installation, use and decommissioning of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
