Website Content Editor (Education)
Job Summary
Serves as the chief editor of the institution's website content. Responsible for contributing to site design, assisting with the development of content management system, maintaining the integrity of web-related data and overseeing portal functionality ensuring the smooth daily operation of web services while maintaining institution brand standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work closely with Information Technology at District and college locations to establish and implement web design, technical usability, and accessibility standards for marketing website and to streamline system interfaces for content management systems and workflow definitions across all web platforms.
Help formulate research, development and deployment strategies so that the organization stays current with technology trends across all platforms.
Collaborate with HCC administration to include academic deans and department chairs to develop, update and maintain content in the web content management system.
Support the district's website by ensuring content is accurate, relevant to target audiences, and up to date and work with internal partners to provide proactive and timely updates to web content.
Analyze readership data and develop content strategies to increase user engagement.
Research and create content (textual and video) depending on the program area or college department needs.
Support the day to day updating of the marketing website as projects are assigned.
Ensure compliance with ADA regulations and any legal standards (i.e., SACS, THECB, etc.) and compliance with copyright and privacy regulations.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism or Communications or relevant discipline, Web Production, Instructional Technology, or related field required
• 8 years directly related experience may be considered in lieu of required degree
• 5 years combined experience programming in a web-based environment, and multimedia design and programming in a higher education institution, administering learning management systems, training, and supporting faculty in the production of course materials for online delivery in individual or group settings, and client and server- side scripting and programming required
• Experience working with content management technologies, web ad management, e-marketing tools, and web analytic software preferred
Licensing & Certification
• Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
