Dental Receptionist (Manufacturing)

The Dental Receptionist contributes to Livingston Community Health's continued success by passionately executing the organization's business model, promoting the company culture, mission, and values. This Job Description identifies the major responsibilities of this position. Responsibilities include delivering excellent customer service to all our current or prospect patients, with a positive, professional, and helpful attitude.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

*This is a Part Time Dental Receptionist position

Politely and professionally greet patients entering the clinic.
Register new patients according to established procedures. Review and update patient registration information at each visit.
Assist patients with any questions or concerns by directing them to appropriate resources.
Inform patients of relevant dental office policies and procedures.
Present patients with recommended treatment plans and document patients' treatment decisions.
Inform patients of financial treatment plan options.
Move patients through appointments as scheduled.
Enter all relevant patient information into the Practice Management or Dental Health Record systems.
Answer all incoming calls within a timely manner.
Schedule patient appointments and confirm upcoming appointments and recalls - while following the guidelines and scripts.
Research and answer any questions/correspondence regarding a patient's account in a timely manner.
Pre-flows patients based on clinic protocols.
Fill in cancellations whenever possible.
Follow up with no shows to reschedule appointments, whenever possible.
Document communication with patients using NextGen's Telephone Communication Template.
Maintain a list of referrals to other dental specialties and follow up on referrals, as needed.
Input all checks, charges, and adjustments on private pay and third-party accounts daily.
Close the payment batches daily and report on the patient count per provider information.
Complete money batch reconciliation process daily.
Verify eligibility for patients as needed.
Maintain a professional reception area.
Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality of all patient information by following HIPAA guidelines.
Other duties and projects as assigned.


Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


Education -

High school Diploma or GED.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -

Exceptional customer service, active listening, excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Desire to work as part of a team.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment.
