Job Summary

As a Technical Project Manager, you will be part of a team passionate about building and running highly scalable, fault tolerant distributed platforms that help transform and power Epiq's business.

The Technical Project Manager's primary role is to coordinate all activities for major Epiq software development projects. In this role you will play a significant leadership role for critical development projects, driving collaboration across diverse, geographically distributed, cross-functional project teams, aligning priorities, setting expectations, managing dependencies, communicating project status, and driving organizational change management. This position will require frequent interaction with a combination of business stakeholders and software engineers, require effective communication and facilitation skills, and will be the ‘voice of customer' regarding project schedules and releases. You have proven your ability to organize workload and priorities, to complete tasks on time and to work effectively in a team environment. Effective communication and the ability to tackle difficult problems while being a team player are a must!

Job Responsibilities

  • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes

Ensure delivery of projects on time, on-budget, and to maximize customer satisfaction

  • Drive an appropriate sense of urgency toward project deliverables and client-focused priorities
  • Responsible for planning, resourcing, scheduling, project kickoff, delivery, and closing
  • Define projects and work breakdown structures (WBS)
  • Build a collaborative working relationship with the business unit stakeholders per project
  • Obtain and validate resources, task durations, timelines, deliverables, and milestones
  • Identify risks and issues throughout the project life cycle. Evaluate courses of action and contingency plans, including mitigation or escalation
  • Track project actuals against the project plan. Baseline and revise the plan when necessary
  • Track project spend against approved budgets and report on forecasts and variances
  • Ensure delivered projects meet defined business requirements and meet customer quality expectations
  • Develop a communications plan and follow established project status reporting processes
  • Develop and/or improve tracking tools to communicate project progress and benefit provided to clients
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to achieve project milestones and customer satisfaction
  • Continuously improve processes from engagement to delivery
  • Collaborate with product team members and internal stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure a common understanding of project scope, schedule, and risks
  • Work closely with software engineering teams and product management to represent the customer, setting priorities when conflicts arise, answering specific requirements questions and monitoring progress towards project deliverables. Escalate risks to management proactively
  • Able to work as part of a team to develop, plan and implement multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Be a mentor and coach to other Project Managers

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in a technical- or business-related field
  • 3+ years IT (Information Technology) Project Management experience
  • 2+ years' experience working in an Agile software development life cycle methodology
  • A strong track record for successfully delivering complex, large-scale projects with a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Experience managing multiple, complex, and concurrent technology projects at varying stages, across varying customers
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred
  • Knowledge of software development framework, architecture concepts and terminology
  • Experience in Microsoft Visual Studio Team System and Team Foundation Server technologies 2013 preferred (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Services, Jira or a similar tool, Confluence, Office 365
  • Familiar with all aspects of the software development life cycle methodology including specification, documentation, testing and rollout
  • Experience working with remote and global teammates
