If you are an Operations professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Knoxville, TN location, you will provide direction to and drive vision and purpose for the location's Operations department.
 
AS AN OPERATIONS MANAGER, YOU WILL: 
  • Drive vision and purpose for Knoxville Operations.
  • Ensure Operations teams collaborate and processes flow efficiently in order to ship orders on time to customer request
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams when launching new product or introducing new business requirements (such as Technology, Marketing, Procurement, Order Entry, Inside Sales, Inventory, Engineering and Quality).  Ensure communication is clear, processes are updated and cross-training is implemented in a timely manner to ensure effectiveness of organization
  • Ensure all health and safety policies are followed and there is a model for continuous training to ensure all employees are up-to-date on all protocols
  • Ensure Operations' business systems are set up and audited for accuracy to ensure accurate material planning, procurement, order fulfillment and shipping processes
  • Ensure work instructions, guidelines and procedures are documented and up-to-date
  • Provide day to day coaching and guidance to Knoxville Operations team
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving challenges
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the organization's annual goals, training standards, coaching/mentoring and succession planning
  • As needed, evaluate organization staffing and functional team organization to ensure alignment to product volume, production needs and customer requirements
  • Must be able to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field of study
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and experience in the entire product development, manufacturing and service cycle
  • Influentional leadership experience of cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Presentation skills (face-to-face and online)
