Bakehouse Pastry Scaler (Finance)
$12.00-$13.50, negotiable based on experience
Availability:
8-9 hours shifts between the hours of 5am-2pm, Typical shift is 5am-1pm
Weekend availability
Holiday availability
Full availability end of October, November and December (we don't take any extra time off during these months)
Essential Job Functions:
Able to speak, read, and write English
Must have be able to understand numbers and number relationships (i.e. decimal points, fractions)
Must have at least 1-year professional food experience and/or training
Must interact well with people in stressful situations (i.e. holidays)
Set up and organize scaling area
Scale/measure recipes at a rate of 4 per hour
Monitor and rotate ingredient levels using FIFO
Checks in with leader regarding ingredient levels and location.
Follows ours and FDA traceability system by recording LOT numbers
Break down, set up, and clean area
Recycle and compost scraps and boxes
Keep all of the recipes organized for the mixers.
Live and uphold the Zingerman's Guiding Principles and all of Zingerman's Recipes
Treats customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect
Work safely around hot ovens, heavy equipment and sharp utensils
Work in a clean and organized fashion
Follow clearly documented food safety procedures
Take direction from multiple leaders
Communicate at a high level within the department and Bakehouse
Complete detailed training requirements that can take up to 1.5 years
Attend and participate in department and business huddles (meetings)
Physical Demands:
Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during an 8 hour shift
Comfortable standing, lifting and bending for duration of an 8 hour shift
Comfortable with repetitive motion, with high levels of coordination, mobility, and dexterity.
