Supervisor Career Coach (Creative Design)

The Career Coach Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Career Services or Regional Career Services Manager by giving and receiving peer input into the delivery of services.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works closely the Director of Career Services or Regional Career Services Manager - to implement program goals and prepares reports as required/requested; may provide direct service delivery.
  • Functions as a member of the Career Coaches team, giving and receiving peer input into the delivery of services.
  • Oversees programs or initiatives assigned.
  • Will provide direct supervision to Career Coaches assigned.
  • Monitors required electronic data bases to ensure data is kept current and accurate.
  • Gathers and consolidates data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and other reports as required/requested.   
  • Ensures program outcomes are met per contract/MOA requirements.    
  • Monitors caseloads of assigned Career Coaches to ensure services are being administered within Goodwill Works guidelines.
  • Communicates with and serves as a liaison between Career Coaches, participants, and other agencies
  • Maintains awareness of labor market trends, high demand and high growth occupations, and job availability.
  • May provide direct service to participants as needed to include the following:
    • Conducts intake interviews and assessments
    • Provides counseling to participants focusing on assessment needs, work habits, interpersonal skills, and other issues impacting work.
    • Provides case management services connecting with appropriate agencies for additional needs and assistance.
    • Observes documents and explains participant's work performance and behavior relative to the employability of the participant.
    • Provides career guidance and vocational counseling as appropriate.
    • Assists in formulating and implementing an Individualized Action Plan with participants.
    • Conducts follow-up calls to employers to assure satisfaction with retention and support services
    • Provides follow-along and retention services to participants. 
  • Primary duties include the exercise of discretion and independent judgement regarding matters of significance.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Positions Supervised:  Career Coaches as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or one-year work experience in lieu of college degree in workforce development/social services environments such as a workforce development program and/or community rehabilitation providing services to individuals with disabilities and/or disadvantages.
  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 yrs. of management or supervisory experience in Workforce Development or Human/Social Services field. 
  • Case management experience required.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or disadvantages.
  • Must possess versatility, discretion, and the ability to work with a variety of people.
  • Must have the ability to communicate well both orally and written
  • Must maintain participant confidentiality and follows the Certified Rehabilitation Counselors Code of Ethics.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and correct safety issues, if possible.
  • Travel to other locations beyond the assigned work location as required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
