Internal Sales Supervisor - Technical (Administrative)



Position:               Internal Sales Supervisor - Technical

Department:            Internal Sales

Location:              Waunakee, WI

Hours:                  M-F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Reports To:          Internal Sales Manager

Employees that report to this position: Internal Sales Reps I, II, & III

Description: Provide superior customer service to NORD's customers in the United States. You will develop and motivate a team of Internal Sales Representatives who directly support customers by quoting, entering orders, and troubleshooting.    While maintaining and meeting company goals and objectives, you will utilize analytical thinking skills to effectively resolve issues, improve processes, and plan the staff accordingly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Internal Sales Department employees, including attendance, evaluating performance, providing feedback, training, and employee career development.  
  • Act as an internal technical expert for our customers through the Internal Sales staff (through training and technical leadership exercises).
  • Provide one on one or group training for Internal Sales Team.
  • Identify areas in the Internal Sales Department where improvements can be made, develop solutions, test new process, and implement changes.
  • Handle technically complex products or customer escalated issues.
  • Continuously improve NORD's Internal Sales efficiencies, effectiveness, and communication with other departments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to retain business and promote business growth opportunities in cooperation with external sales.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Field Required
  • Previous supervisory experience required.  Familiarity with power transmission industry preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and computer skills.  Excellent attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, high emotional intelligence, coaching, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day.  Ability to travel to satellite facilities and customer sites.
