Examine manufactured products to ensure parts meet all standards of presentation and quality.
Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria.
Study product specifications and work instructions to ensure they are being followed.
Perform visual, mechanical and functional verification of parts to ensure compliance to set specification and quality standards, both receiving inspection and final inspection.
Make independent judgments for subjective calls.
Collect and record accurate data regarding defects.
Tag and isolate defective material, provide description or justification for defective material, and ensure MRN's are sent to Purchasing for claims. Follow up weekly with Purchasing until claim is resolved.
Communicate results to managers, supervisors and production source.
Audit and record processes and inspection points to ensure quality standards are being met
Perform root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions for defective products and processes.
Identify areas of opportunity with plant management to improve process and/or reduce the cost of poor quality and lead the project to improve.
Document results of new procedures after implementation to show quality improvements.
Provide support in the execution production operations to ensure the special instructions are followed.
Create training material and visual aids as necessary to communicate process requirements.
Lead quality inspectors on daily operations
Provide necessary support and help with cross training to inspectors and key team members.

Onsite customer support to west coast customers (west of the Mississippi) for audits, inspection, and to diagnose quality concerns.
