Position Title: Data Center Technician - 4N
Under direct supervision, the Data Center Technician is responsible for providing first class customer support to Data Center and Network customers within the 24 x 7 x 365 Network Operations Center (NOC) that monitors, resolves, tests, and escalates network alarms, facility alarms and security issues. This position is responsible for answering all incoming Data Center support calls, opening NOC support e-mail request, tracking and following up on all customer issues, responding to NOC alarms, as well assist in completing new circuit turn-ups, customer installs, remote/smart hands and troubleshooting within the Philadelphia Data Center Network. The role will involve frequent coworker, client and vendor interaction while performing daily tasks. Excellent communication skills, people skills and follow up abilities are paramount as well as a keen understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate, reliable documentation. The right individual for this opportunity will need to be a thorough planner, must pay close attention to detail and be organized while executing tasks. He or she must be able to work well in cooperative efforts, but also be driven and take initiative on tasks which require autonomous independent work.
Reports to: Data Center Operations Manager and Data Center Engineers
Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Shift work including nights and weekends. On-call environment.
