Reclaimed Water Technician (Government)

Overview:

Woodard & Curran is seeking a Reclaimed Water Technician for our Water Conserv II project in Winter Garden, FL.  The Reclaimed Water Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring the transmission pipeline, Distribution Center pumping system, distribution network, Rapid Infiltration Basins (RIBs) and all associated components at Water Conserv II. This position requires sampling and field analysis of reclaimed water and groundwater, as well as field monitoring of groundwater, surface water levels, and rainfall amounts in order to maintain quality control and permit compliance.  This position will operate on a rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to learn and operate and monitor SCADA system computer systems.
  • Must demonstrate a working ability in the accurate recording and interpretation of a variety of reporting data.
  • Must be willing to work shifts unsupervised, rotating shifts, and shifts that include weekend or holiday duty.
  • Requires working inside and outside in environments with noise and all temperatures and environmental conditions and must be able to work under adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have completed high school level courses in math and English.  Completion of courses in chemistry, biology and environmental sciences would be a plus.
  • Requires good reading, math, writing, and verbal communication skills; a scientific and mechanical aptitude; and the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles, and other equipment. 
  • The following certifications preferred but not required:
    • Florida Limited Lawn Certification
    • Florida DEP Surface and Groundwater Sampling Course
    • FW&PCOA Reclaimed Water Field Site Inspector Certification
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License, have a safe driving record, and be able to operate vehicles with automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive.
