Research Assistant (Finance)
This individual will be expected to help assemble and distribute the correspondences that go to participants in lieu of meeting them in-clinic. This individual is also expected to professionally interface with study staff as part of a team-based environment. Communication amongst team members is essential to executing daily tasks. The candidate may also be expected to present the study to health professionals and potential participants; meeting with participants to conduct informed consent and administer study instruments. All study visits are now done over the phone and this candidate will need to be able to successfully communicate with participants over the phone, which will include matching the speed and tone of voice to their needs. Excellent verbal communication skills are necessary for interactions with participants and co-workers. Flexibility and the ability to quickly learn new skills, with and without previous instruction, are necessary. The position will provide broad exposure to the development and implementation of a patient-centered health services research intervention and extensive interaction with study subjects.
Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Professional manner, excellent communication, highly responsible, interest in learning new skills, and ability to initiate problem-solving are necessary. Experience in clinical research or related work involving data management is preferred but not essential. Excellent inter-personal skills essential, especially strength in conducting interviews with participants. Experience with data entry preferred. Prior employment in a setting requiring interpersonal contact.
