Primary Function

Must be able to read and understand sketches and interpret their meaning onto glass edges.  

Job Overview: 

• Position glass on fabrication equipment or inspection table
• Attend to glass moving through machines, adjusting equipment for proper finish
• Calibrates machine/equipment for desired fabrication and quality
• Use of hand tools and powered hand tools such as sanders, grinders, etc.
• Polish material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools
• Inspect for quality standards
• Place tabs on corners of pieces of glass of different sizes to minimize risk of breakage
• Adhere to all safety standards and PPE requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements: 

Employees at OBE are expected to have regular and predictable attendance, work independently with little direct supervision, aptitude to learn and understand and willingness to cross-train in other areas as required. 

• Lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to lift, bend, twist, walk, and reach frequently
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete floor for eight hours or more
• Ability to wear company-issued PPE such as safety shirt, hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection
• Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.
• Ability to work in varied temperatures
• Must be at least 18 years old
