Remote Sales Business Intelligence Analyst Role - Live Anywhere in the US
What you will do
As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst within the Johnson Controls Strategic Accounts Sales team, you will dive deep into large data sets that span across business domains, CRM and ERP systems. This position requires a solution developer who can work with our business leaders to identify opportunities and leverage existing data sets to develop sales initiatives for our strategic account team.
Analyse BI needs of the organization and recommend BI solutions and strategy.
Support the development of strategic initiatives and enterprise level estimates for strategic account opportunities. Responsible for enterprise-grade analytics solutions for both internal and external customers.
Provide frameworks, reference architectures and accurate estimates for the implementations.
Build tools to consolidate, analyze, and drive strategic decision making across our strategic accounts team.
Develop and maintain BI infrastructure architectural design and technical configurations.
Offer recommendations and analysis on course correction and seriousness and magnitude of business issues.
Maintain expertise in a variety of building domains, business verticals, JCI processes and tools.
Develop and maintain high level relationships within strategic account and business intelligence leaders.
Set up documentation for policies, best practices, standards, and procedures (workflows) for reporting systems and services.
Serve as subject matter expert on Microsoft BI stack.
Understand data standards and identify data abnormalities. Instill data quality in all solutions delivered.
How you will do it
Build, develop and maintain data models, automated reports, and dashboards that align to strategic account performance metrics. Use business intelligence tools to communicate findings and solutions updates to collaborators and senior leadership.
Design, develop and support solutions that streamline our strategic account business, report accurately on growth, and develop business opportunities.
Develop requirements documents, project plans and resource estimates on proposed projects. On projects under development, track progress and present project progress.
Connect with technical teams to identify data tables and schemas needed for analysis. Strong understanding of CRM and ERPs and complex databases will be needed to develop solution using data from different systems.
Identify and partner with data analyst and IT teams to understand Johnsons Controls' long term data strategies, environments, systems and collaboration opportunities.
Identify data sets and develop relationships to deliver clear and concise sales performance opportunities and results. Current data sets include Salesforce, Johnson Controls Integrated Business Systems (IBS), NxGen (Service), Compass (Security), Xaap (fire service), Oracle Fusion, and SAP.
Design and develop scorecards and dashboards using Power BI, SSAS, SSRS and other related technologies.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in engineering, IT, economics, math, statistics, science, or other related fields
5+ years of experience in a developer level role in business intelligence.
3+ years of experience in Microsoft BI stack
Excellent critical-thinking skills with the ability to research and analyze data retrieved from multiple sources
In-depth experience with Microsoft analytics Stack (SQL Server, SSAS Tabular, SSRS, Power BI, Power Query, DAX, SQL and T-SQL)
Experience in performance tuning of Power BI reports/dashboards, scheduling Reports/Direct query etc.
Knowledge of Power BI set up and deployment architecture design. Gateway administration
Experience in Extraction, Transformation and Loading (SSIS), Tabular/OLAP Model (Microsoft SSAS), Azure Analysis Services
In-depth experience with Associated Development Tools – Visual Studios Data Tools, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Data Tools, Microsoft TFS
Implementation of access control and knowledge of security mechanisms for report access
Proficiency required with Microsoft Flow and Microsoft Power Apps setup and usage
Knowledge of dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and O365
Superior documentation and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented. Must possess and demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
Highly motivated and results oriented. Able to communicate clearly and lead by influence. Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization
Knowledge of R, Python, or related programming languages valuable
Travel up to 10%.
