Summary:
The Pilot Associates will be responsible for performing various activities to execute experiments and to produce subassemblies, WIP products, finished goods and engineering samples in support of various engineering groups such as R&D, Process, Pilot and Sustaining engineering. The Pilot Associates will work directly with and assist engineers from the various groups in the development of new equipment, materials, product and processes. The Pilot Associatesmust be flexible and display the ability to change course, workstations and production lines throughout the workday. The Pilot Associates will assist the Pilot Lead and trainers in the training of new Pilot Associates. The Pilot Associate may also perform other miscellaneous tasks such as material handling, rework and support for the Commercial team by being temporarily assigned to work on Commercial lines.

Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively in English. Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules and standardized manufacturing procedures. Ability to read, comprehend and interpret non-standard documents such as Experimental Requests and redlined procedures. Ability to fill out standardized documentation such as Lot History Records (LHRs) and Form Templates (FTs) and non-standardized documentation such as redlined Lot History Records (LHRs). Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, Leads, engineers and supervisors. Ability to communicate basic work instructions with colleagues. Ability to read and write routine correspondence, such as emails, to supervisors, engineers, management and support functions. Ability to communicate clearly in front of a medium to large audience of employees, engineers and management within the organization such as Gemba presentations.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret basic equations and calculate figures and amounts defined in procedures such as label reconciliation, solution concentrations, etc. Basic excel usage. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Independently resolve complex issues in their functional area and obtain proper support/resources or escalate, if necessary
