Schaeffler Aerospace USA Corp, is seeking a qualified Assembly Operator (1st shift) to support our Danbury, CT location. The position will perform at least three basic operations such as classification, assembly, caging, inserting separators, etching, and parts cleaning after preload grinding.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
Obtain all necessary supplies to perform daily tasks
Maintain all necessary quality measurements and reporting
Transfer parts to the next operation as required
Ensure manufacturing area is cleaned and organized according to 5s
Follow department rules, procedures, routines, and requirements to complete assigned duties
Responsible for sampling parts during the assembly operation, to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications
Ensure that all components have been accepted and correspond to the assembly work order and blueprint
Must verify that all required paperwork and gages are on the workstation
Record keeping and housekeeping; all parts identified properly and organized in such a way as to avoid mixing, and keep work area neat and clean
Assist in training new employees
Record routine data and count bearings or parts as directed
Qualified candidates will have:
Ability to work under supervision of departmental aide and routine operational guideance of others
Ability to follow standard practice and refer all problems to supervisor
Eudcation equivalent to partial high school
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Required to adhere to Clean Room policy attire
Three months of work experience; preferably manufacturing experience
Ability to read work instructions
Basic computer skills
