Position:  Operations Manager, to administer recurring or daily functions or processes necessary for business execution and identifies opportunities for improvement or efficiencies. Directly supervise and coordinate activities of transportation and material-moving machines and vehicle operators and helpers. 

Priorities:   

  • Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations, or production goals.
  • Confer with customers, supervisors, contractors, and other personnel to exchange information and to resolve problems.
  • Advise workers in transportation or related services, such as moving, storing, and loading or unloading of materials.
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations, at the local, state and federal levels.
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve worker motivation, equipment performance, work methods, and customer services.
  • Ensure compliance with regulated vehicle Inspections, completion of repairs and preventative maintenance of vehicles.

Qualifications/Skills:

•          At least 5 years of related management experience in the moving & storage or similar transportation industry

•          Ability to foster teamwork, multi-task and prioritize.

The pay range is $67,000 to $79,000 annual equivalent. Starting pay rate will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable agreement. Dependent on the length of service, hours worked, and applicable agreements, benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and optional disability insurance, sick pay of 2.66 hours for every 80 hours worked, Vacation pay of 3.08 hours for every 80 hours worked, paid holidays (6 days annually), three personal days (prorated based on start date), bereavement pay and retirement benefits.  The Operations Manager position is considered safety sensitive and will be subject to the company's random drug test program.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): The following are required to enable job holders to perform the essential functions of the job

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of related experience
  • Ability to foster teamwork

Technology Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in ERP systems
